Juniper Midwives

Juniper Midwives (previously know as Four Directions Midwifery) is a team of Registered Midwives. They provide care to women of Calgary and surrounding communities, including Tsuut’ina, Morley, Eden Valley, and Siksika.

Their practice has grown and transformed over the last couple of years and they wanted their brand to reflect these changes.  Newname, new logo, new website, and more!

I was honored when Jessica - a friend and the practice owner of Four Directions Midwifery came to me and asked for guidance with the rebrand of her practice to Juniper Midwives and to assist with designing a fresh, new website.

Together we collaborated on the function, design, and layout of the website and new brand. We went for a welcoming lighter and brighter feel, a little modern yet keeping many traditional elements.

I am so excited for her and her team of amazing midwives. If you or someone you know is expecting and looking for care, I highly recommend the team at Juniper Midwives.

Ashley swooped in to help me during such a tough time of transition in my business. She was brought on to assist me with admin tasks in my midwifery practice and when she heard me mention that I needed a new website and rebrand she listened intently to what I was describing. After just one day, she had created a website template and rough logo, that was beautiful and the exact style I had been describing, which also complimented my new brand idea.

Just having that template was such a huge relief and made me feel like I could take on the task of rebranding which had felt so overwhelming before. Her template was so aesthetically on-brand that it gave me the inspiration to get to work and flush out the details.

I am an incorrigible perfectionist and Ashley was so understanding and empowered me to ask for exactly what I wanted and needed which made me feel safe to execute my vision confidently, and above all else, she gave me the tools and knowledge I needed to help build my website alongside her so that it could look exactly how I had pictured it.

Ashley helped me learn how to maintain my own website, rebrand all of my existing documents and handouts, and navigate other resources like Canva and stock photography sites. She was like my website midwife! I am so grateful to Ashley for helping me bring this vision of mine to life.

I extend my gratitude to the Nations of the Treaty 7 territory who graciously share and welcome me on their ancestral homelands, including the Blackfoot First Nation tribes of Siksika, the Piikuni, the Kainai, the Stoney Nakoda First Nations tribes of Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley, and the Tsuut’ina First Nation. I acknowledge that this territory is home to the Métis Settlements and the Métis Nation of Alberta, Regions 2, 3, and 4 within the historical Northwest Métis Homeland. I acknowledge Treaty 6 —the traditional and ancestral territory of the Cree, Dene, Blackfoot, Saulteaux, and Nakota Sioux and extend my gratitude for allowing me to grow up on their lands.  I acknowledge the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit who have lived in and cared for these lands for generations. I am grateful for the Traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders who are still with us today and those who have gone before us. I make this acknowledgment as an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those whose territory we reside on or are visiting.
